Saint-Martin,
diving in the Lesser Antilles
Between mangroves, coral reefs, marine mammals and birds, welcome to the heart of a very rich nature reserve.
In brief
In the Antilles archipelago of the Leeward Islands, half French to the north and half Dutch to the south, Saint-Martin and Sint Maarten are a heavenly destination in the heart of the Caribbean.
The island boasts a 30km² marine protected area, the Réserve Naturelle de Saint-Martin, which is a must-see. You'll feel like Robinson in an environment of protected beaches where nature reigns supreme.
The nearby islands ofAnguilla and Saint-Barthélemy are other Caribbean jewels to be discovered from Saint-Martin. Between December and April, the waters between these islands are sometimes the scene of spectacular whale and dolphin sightings.
Take a catamaran from a sandy spit to a rocky coast and dive into turquoise emerald waters. If you're a snorkeling enthusiast, this is the destination of choice for colorful reef fish, rays and turtles, in dreamy spots such as Coconut Grove, Happy Bay and Caye Verte.
Saint-Martin, the ideal tropical destination for sailing in the West Indies, departing from Galisbay in Marigot on the French side or from Sint Maarten Port Authority on the Dutch side.
